My Summer Must Haves

Hi Guys, it is finally getting warmer which has made me switch a few things about in my make-up bag!

Blusher |

I have started wearing either a cream or a liquid blush instead of my usual powder. I love wearing cream blushes and this Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Cream Blush in the colour Honey is one that I have been regularly reaching for, I apply this to the apples of my cheeks using my Real Techniques Stippling brush. Another product that I have been using is my Benefit Benetint, I apply a small amount to my cheeks , then dab it with my finger. I love the dewy finish of these products and these formulas never feel cake-y like powders can, which is great when the weather is hot!

Highlighter |

Another powder product that I have swapped for a liquid is my highlighter. I have gone back to an old favourite of mine the Benefit Highbeam I have used this product on and off for years. This is a beautiful highlighter, it leaves a natural, glowy sheen. I apply this by dabbing some of the product on the tops of my cheekbones, down the centre of my nose, above my cupids bow and occasionally a little bit in the centre of my forehead. I sometimes add a little bit into my foundation as well which leaves a lovely glowy complexion.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir |

So I recently gave into the hype, joined the bandwagon and purchased this (using my Birchbox points!). Since using this I am in love. I use this in the morning before applying my moisturiser, it smells amazing and really wakes your skin up! When I read that it ‘smooths away fine lines, tightens pores and gives the complexion a real boost of radiance’ I didn’t believe it at all, but I have found that after using it my skin feels and looks better and my foundation applies better. It’s also nice to carry around in your bag and give your face a spritz throughout the day, this is especially nice if it’s a hot day!

Lipgloss |

I recently noticed all of my lip glosses were bright colours and I didn't actually own a nice nude lip gloss, that was until I picked up this Revlon Super Lustrous in the colour 215 super natural. This lip gloss is lovely and it is one I have been grabbing every day. After using this I really want to get some more colours in this formula. It’s not sticky it has no scent which personally I prefer in a lipgloss, it feels moisturising and top marks on the packaging which I feel looks a lot more expensive than it actually is!

I hope you all enjoyed this little post to update you all on a few changes that I like to make in the summer. Are there any products that you mix up in the summer months?

Current Everyday Make-up!

Good Evening my lovelies!

I thought I would update my everyday make-up as it was ages ago that I posted one of these and my make-up routine has changed a lot! My current moisturiser is Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser for dry/sensitive skin. As I have mentioned on here before I suffer with dry skin and find it difficult to find a good moisturiser. When I won a Birchbox instagram competition a couple of weeks ago this was one of the products that I bought. I love the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish as it is one of the few cleansers that doesn't irritate my skin so I thought I would try the moisturiser. After using this for a couple of weeks I love it, I use it day and night and my skin feels so much more hydrated!

After moisturising I use foundation and concealer. I would usually do my concealer last but as I only use light eyeshadows for this look there is no fall down so no need to touch up afterwards. I use my Real Techniques buffing brush to apply both my Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation (No51 - Light Vanilla) and my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (Fair No1), buffing the product right into your skin using this brush creates a flawless look. This foundation feels really light on your skin but you can get a medium coverage with it. It leaves you with a glowy/dewy finish which I personally prefer than a matte coverage. It says it lasts for up to 16hours I'd say it lasts around 7-8 hours on my skin before I need to touch it up. This foundation has been great on my dry skin as I find it really hydrating and I love the fresh fruity scent!

I would then use my E.L.F eyebrow kit (light) using a small angled brush. On my eyes I use my Urban Decay Naked 3 palette I use the colour Strange all over my lid and as a highlighter under my brow. I then take the colour Limit into my crease and blend. If I want to add more colour I will occasionally take the other matte colour in the palette, Nooner, and work that into my crease also. I then line my upper lash-line with Eyeko Skinny Liner in black adding a slight flick. I finish my eyes by using Maybelline The Falsies Volum'express Mascara on my top and bottom
lashes.

On my cheeks I use my Bourjois Bronzing powder into the hollows of my cheeks, up on my temples and either side of my forehead. I then use Benefit Highbeam on the tops of my cheekbones, down the centre of my nose and above my cupids bow! I hope you enjoyed this update on my current make-up!

What a bargain | Glamour Magazine

Hello!

I recently saw that Glamour magazine were giving away a Eyeko Skinny Liner in navy, so obviously I had to get it. They are also giving away the black one but I already have it and I have been on the hunt for a nice navy liner. I feel like its tricky to find the right blue when looking for a liquid liner, some blues remind me of that cheap make-up you'd buy as a child!

This blue is perfect, you can wear it everyday without it looking ghastly. It also makes my blue eyes stand out which I was quite surprised at as I would normally steer clear of blue and head for more bronze-y colours.

It comes in Glamour Magazine which is just £2 and also comes with a sample of Prada Candy Fragrance, L'oreal Skin Perfection and Hawaiian Tropic Satin Protection! This is the July edition so it will be in stores at the moment and if you struggle with applying eye-liner, I would highly recommend you give the Eyeko Skinny Liner a try as it is definitely the easiest liner I have ever tried to apply!

Tag | The Blogger Made Me Buy It!

1. Who are your most influential bloggers? Who are the ones that you really rely on for reviews and swatches?

I Love Tanya Burrs Blog she is my favourite Blogger I also love FleurDeForce, Kandeejohnson and Zoella.

2. Do you buy a product solely as a result from one review from your favourite bloggers, or do you look for more reviews from others?

I tend to look at more than one review before purchasing an item. Saying that if one of my favourite bloggers highly recommends something I will tend to add it to my list!

3. What is your favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?

Probably the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation, as if I hadn't read so many great reviews on this I probably wouldn't have even noticed it in the shop. Its a great affordable everyday foundation.

4. What is your least favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?

Thankfully I don't really own any products that I dislike.

5. Name 5 products you have bought recently as a result of blog.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette, benefit boi-ing concealer, L'Oreal true match foundation, bourjois healthy mix foundation and caudalie beauty elixir.

6. Have you ever given in to blogger hype? If so, which hype?

The collection lasting perfection concealer but I don't regret giving in as its now my all time favourite concealer!

7. Have you ever avoided blogger hype? If so, which hype?

HOURGLASS Ambient Lighting Powder mainly because they are so expensive but also because I don't have a nearby counter to have a look at them.

8. Is everything you buy based on blogger reviews or are there some items you buy without checking out a review?

If I am thinking about buying something I will look up reviews before going out and buying it especially if it is an expensive product.

I don't normally do tags but I thought this one was fun. I TAG everyone that reads this! if you do this tag share your blog link in my comments I'd love to read some!

Benefit Boi-ing Concealer

Hello My Beauties!

I recently purchased the benefit boi-ing concealer from Birchbox. I won a competition on their Instagram and received £50.00 to spend on their online shop. I have now been using this for a few weeks so thought I would give you my opinion on this product. I have to apologise in advance for my pictures my DSLR camera has broken :( so until I can afford to get it repaired my pictures will have to be taken on my Iphone.

I decided to get the concealer in shade 01 light as I wanted to use it on my dark circles so wanted a very light shade as I am fair anyway.

I found the colour perfect and the coverage great. I did have a problem with it creasing under my eyes which I was quite disappointed in as on the description it says "This award-winning concealer camouflages dark circles, shadows and discoloration without creasing or fading."
As I said the coverage was great and definitely covered my dark circles which is great as you can imagine with a hyper 2 year old my dark circles are definitely a problem! The product didn't last all day but it lasted a good 7 hours I'd say which is fine by me as it lasted a whole shift at work without me having to touch it up.

Overall I think this concealer is good but not great, I think I may actually prefer my collection lasting perfection concealer and at about quarter of the price I think I'll stick to that one!
